Taylor Rewarded with 2004 PBC Hitter of the Year Award
Saturday, October 16th , 2004
Before the season started, Zack Taylor told reporters he wasn't sure how much baseball he had left in his career. He even contemplated the fact that this could be his last season.

But if 2004 is in fact any indication, the 36-year-old Houston Mavericks right fielder certainly has a lot left to contribute.

"I feel almost as good as I did when I was 20," he said. "Although certainly a lot more aches and pains."

The award-winning season consisted of the Manteca, California, native posting a .336 batting average and a .427 on-base percentage in 85 games. He amassed 87 hits, 18 doubles, 1 triple, 18 home runs, 49 RBIs and 45 runs scored.

Howie Park of the Boston Shamrocks finished second in voting, while Eddie Stevenson of the Denver Cutthroats finished third.
