Williams Voted September's Rookie Award Friday, October 1st , 2004 Jay Williams entered the month a lamb, but finished it a full-fledged lion as he received word that he had been chosen the Professional Baseball Circuit Rookie of the Month for September. In 5 starts Williams cruised to a 2-1 record for the month, hurling 31 innings, striking out 38 batters and holding them to a .191 batting average. Los Angeles fans have a lot to look forward to with this guy on the hill. For the season Williams has logged 9 wins and 5 losses and struck out 169 batters in 136.2 innings while compiling a 1.91 ERA. |
