They came up empty when it mattered against Detroit Motors right-hander Mike Brown, who scattered 4 hits across 9 innings and held the Peanuts scoreless. "We had 4 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," San Francisco manager Larry Link said later. Brown chalked up 9 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 8-0 Motors win.
