Guest Blues Win, 5-1, at Dallas
|
New York City picked up a win at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark, bumping off the Dallas Texans, 5-1. Pitcher Brian Hack was a major reason the Blues emerged victorious. In 8 innings, Hack surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 2nd save for New York City was Shane Winnicki.
New York City used the timely hitting of James Norwood to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blues on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Hack.
New York City is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 16 games.
