San Francisco Edges Washington, 1-0, Quevedo Ks 10
|
Edwin Quevedo was superb against Washington. The left-hander, who finished 4th in the PBC in wins with 10 last year, had a splitter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Peanuts victory. The score was 1-0. At 42-40, the Peanuts find themselves in third place in the West Division.
Washington had little success against Quevedo and his splitter. Quevedo tossed 104 pitches over 7 innings for the Peanuts.
"Bottom line," said Washington skipper Barry Lolich, "we didn't play well enough to win."
