The Denver Cutthroats stopped the New York City Blues, 6-2, at Blues Field. The Cutthroats got a big game from Tony Carreras, who went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Pat Winston, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-5. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 0. Carreras had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a full count cutter from Matt Baird, he banged a bases-clearing double to left-center, giving the Cutthroats a 5-2 lead. It was the 16th double of the year for Carreras.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Carreras told the Denver Daily News.
