|
The Washington Warriors saddled the Boston Shamrocks with a loss at Shamrocks Ballpark. The final score was 7-6. Bailey Strachan was 2 for 3, including 1 single and 1 home run. The Washington catcher scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Washington reliever Jon Snowden got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Nate Draper was tagged with the loss. Kevin Tilley picked up the save for Washington, his 11th of the year.
Washington took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 5-5, when Matt Tomasso hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Washington in front, 7-5.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Warriors manager Barry Lolich. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
The first-place Warriors have a one-game lead in their division.
