Red-Hot Medlen Scorches Goldeyes Sunday, September 8th , 2002 Ron Medlen was unstoppable, but the Saskatoon Moose were not. Despite his hitting heroics at Moose Grounds today, the Moose lost 8-6 to the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Medlen battered Winnipeg for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His only consolation will be a boost in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book. Medlen just shook his head after the game, telling BNN reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins, not the most hits." Ron Medlen hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, flied out in the 9th and doubled in the 11th.
