Orquiz Blasts 3 out of the Park Tuesday, August 24th , 2027 D.C. (R) Potomacs shortstop Alex Orquiz left the New York (R) pitching staff in ruins at PBC Rookie Development Complex, beating the Knights, 21-2, with a prodigious three-home run performance. "The last one was totally unexpected," Orquiz told reporters at the press conference following his big game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run, and bang, I got number three." For the game, the D.C. (R) shortstop had 4 hits in 7 at-bats, drove in 7 and scored 4 runs. Alex Orquiz struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off C.J. Holland in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Josh Barnes in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Nate Callejas in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. This year, Orquiz is batting .283 with 15 home runs and 57 RBIs. In 66 games he has scored 56 times. |
