Caracals End Brenner Streak Monday, July 5th , 2027 It was the best of both worlds for the Calgary (R) Caracals at PBC Rookie Development Complex, as they defeated the Southern Cal (R) Empires, 5-4, and also snapped Eldwin Brenner's 20-game hitting streak. The 24-year-old Southern Cal (R) catcher failed to get a hit in 1 at-bat. "Nothing personal against Brenner, we just wanted to win the game," said Caracals skipper Mike March. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Brenner frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." So far this year, Brenner is batting .362 with 1 home run and 12 RBIs. |
