New York City (R) Takes Cup Qualifier Wednesday, October 6th , 2027 The New York City (R) Gothams are heading to the Championship Cup, having narrowly defeated the Miami (R) Sun Sox. New York City (R) edged Miami (R) in the series 4-3, with a win at PBC Rookie Development Complex in the clinching game by a 2-1 margin. Rico Zuniga turned in a strong offensive performance for the Gothams and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Championship Cup win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Zuniga continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .346 with a .379 on-base percentage.
