St. Louis (R) Stops Mesa Hit Streak Monday, August 2nd , 2027 The 22-game hitting streak is over. Detroit (R) Motors first baseman David Mesa failed to get a hit against the St. Louis (R) Lions and had his consecutive-game hitting streak broken. The 20-year-old went 0-for-3 in his club's 6-4 victory over the Lions at PBC Rookie Development Complex. "I think I only made it to 22 games because I got lucky once or twice," he said. "So I guess I can't complain too much that I got unlucky and broke the streak." This season, Mesa is batting .396 with 11 home runs. He has scored 44 runs and driven in 50. |
