Mike Reed was a calming influence out of the Miami (R) Sun Sox bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 18-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the RCL East Reliever of the Year Award for 2027.

The Garland, Texas native won the award with 10 saves in 51 relief appearances, 96 strikeouts in 91.2 innings and a record of 9-5 to go with his 3.04 ERA.

He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 24. Ricardo Coronilla of the Washington (R) Warriors finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Ted Scott of the Nashville (R) Bluebirds finished third with 2 first place votes.
