Minnesota (R) Defeats New York City (R) Friday, October 15th , 2027 For the Minnesota (R) Loons, it was a joyful time; for the New York City (R) Gothams, it was gloom and doom. With a 4-3 win at PBC Rookie Development Complex, Minnesota (R) closed out the championship 4-2 over New York City (R). The Loons have now won their 1st league championship in franchise history. The streets around the Loons' stadium were a mob scene, filling quickly with fans, while banners and flags were held high and waved proudly. "It's unbelievable for us, our great fans, and all of Minnesota (R)," said a smiling owner The owner of the Minnesota (R) Loons. "The guys really put their heart and soul into this season and it paid off for them." In a somewhat somber and dejected Gothams clubhouse, manager Josh Rabalais said his team "just didn't get the job done." "The Loons played as good as any team I've seen and deserve to be champions," he said. The champs finished the regular season 74-36 and claimed first place in the RCL West.
