Schmitt Selected WAC's Premier Player Sunday, September 26th , 2027 The future looks extremely bright for Mike Schmitt. At the age of 25, many players are still trying to find their way in SPBC Reserve League. Schmitt has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Western Amateur Circuit Most Valuable Player Award. "I didn't expect to hit .341 this year, that's for sure," the shortstop said. The Tulsa Twisters star also put up a .414 on-base percentage this year, with 137 hits, 23 doubles, 5 triples, 25 home runs, 86 RBIs and 88 runs scored. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Tony Cruz of the Yuma Gnomes finished second in voting, while Dennis Miller of the New Orleans Buccaneers finished third.
