Schmitt Clobbers 3 HR Against Buccaneers Thursday, August 26th , 2027 Mike Schmitt went yard three times in a Tulsa Twisters victory over the New Orleans Buccaneers at Tulsa Park. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Tulsa first baseman went 3-for-5 against New Orleans with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Twisters to the 11-5 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Mike Schmitt hit a two-run home run off Evan Weeks in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Evan Weeks in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Takehiko Kobayashi in the 8th. Currently Schmitt is hitting .340 and has collected 25 home runs, 85 RBIs and scored 82 times, while playing in 108 games. |
