Gonzalez Blisters El Paso Tuesday, August 17th , 2027 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Javier Gonzalez, it came around today. The 23-year-old catcher scattered hits all over Tulsa Park to pace the 1-0 Tulsa Twisters victory over the El Paso Mavericks. El Paso skipper Kevin Jones told reporters in the press room that "Gonzalez deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Gonzalez hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Javier Gonzalez doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
