Malcom 5-for-9 Against St. Petersburg Sunday, July 25th , 2027 It was a high-five day for Wayne Malcom, at least for a while. The Franklin second baseman got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the St. Petersburg Pelicans, but they were in short supply at the end, as St. Petersburg won the game, 13-10. Malcom finished with an impressive 5-for-9 line, but the Knights couldn't hold off the Pelicans. "Wayne was hitting everything," said Knights manager Harry Decker. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Wayne Malcom flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th, struck out in the 16th and hit a two-run double in the 17th. So far on the season, Malcom is hitting .286 with 2 home runs, 19 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 52 hits and played in 43 games. View Boxscore |
