Huerta Torches Mavericks for 5 Hits Wednesday, June 9th , 2027 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Manny Huerta is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the El Paso Mavericks at The Sun Bowl. The monster effort from the 28-year-old first baseman helped the Dallas Bulls get the win, 11-5. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Mavericks manager Kevin Jones. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Manny Huerta singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
