Rolloff Batters Las Vegas Big Time Thursday, August 26th , 2027 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-12 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Chris Rolloff, it came around today. The 37-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Goldeyes Park to pace the 4-3 Winnipeg Buffaloes victory over the Las Vegas Rollers. Las Vegas skipper Pete Block told reporters in the press room that "Rolloff deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Rolloff hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Chris Rolloff grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 9th, struck out in the 11th, grounded out in the 13th, struck out in the 15th, singled in the 18th, doubled in the 20th, flied out in the 22nd and grounded out in the 24th. Rolloff has collected 69 hits for the Buffaloes this year, 5 of them home runs. He has also netted 29 RBIs and scored 46 runs while batting .247. View Boxscore |
