Deal: Sanchez for Ragusa Wednesday, July 28th , 2027 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Vancouver and Winnipeg have made a swap with 34-year old 2B Danny Sanchez, 21-year old minor league LHP Jose Cornejo, and 18-year old minor league RHP Ernesto Felix being shipped to the Buffaloes and in return the Narwhals would get 22-year old minor league RF Ugo Ragusa and 22-year old minor league RHP Jose Perez. Vancouver general manager Dan Loeffler said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Vancouver organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. So far this year, Sanchez has 9 home runs and a .319 batting average. |
