September's WC Top Pitcher is Knights Martin Friday, October 1st , 2027 The Los Angeles Knights celebrated today after the news filtered through the clubhouse that Corey Martin had been selected as September's Western Circuit Pitcher of the Month. Martin's zest for the game has been a frequent topic on the sports pages and his numbers of late have made his fans even more enthusiastic. "Our coaching staff really helps me prepare well," Martin said, "and the fans feed off good pitching. Your pitches just seem to have that extra pop to them when the fans are behind you and you feel confident you can get outs." Martin tossed 33.2 innings last month, holding opponents to a .254 average while striking out 36 batters. In 4 starting assignments he came away with a 4-0 record, putting together an ERA of 2.67. This season, Martin has rung up 16 wins and 3 losses in 22 games. He has an ERA of 3.06 and has fanned 184 batters in 176.1 innings. |
