Pitcher of the Month Named in EC Wednesday, September 1st , 2027 Justin Simpson was ecstatic to win August's Eastern Circuit Pitcher of the Month honors today. The 29-year-old Philadelphia pitcher thanked fans, his coaches and the voters for the honor -- despite the fact that he deserved much of the credit himself. Simpson's star burned bright last month as he made 7 relief appearances, notching no saves and 10 strikeouts in 9 innings. He held opposing hitters to a .156 average to put up his 5-0 mark and 4.00 ERA. So far this season, Simpson is 9-and-1 with 2 saves and a 4.84 ERA. He has given up 40 hits in 44.2 innings with 52 strikeouts. |
