Denver Ruins Terrific Game by Benson
|
Denver second baseman Mark Benson was sensational. He went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Minnesota beat the Cutthroats, 6-3. Alejandro Olivarez earned the win, while 28-year old right-handed pitcher Daniel Sainato took the loss for Denver. After today's action, Minnesota sits at 43-41, while Denver falls to 43-41.
Minnesota used a clutch at-bat from Adolfo Milagres to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Loons ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Minnesota manager Brian Hughes praised his team's "no BS approach."
