Gulls Earn Clutch Win, 5-4
|
Seattle beat Dallas at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to right fielder Adam Thorson. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Anthony Anderson. His record now stands at 9-5. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Gulls. Junro Yano recorded the save, making him 9 for 10.
Seattle used the timely hitting of Andrew O'Neal to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Gulls on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning is always a team effort," O'Neal said after the game.
With the win, the Gulls have a record of 46-38.
