Texans Deal Loons 4-3 Defeat
|
The Minnesota Loons got a sterling performance from pitcher Alejandro Olivarez, but the Dallas Texans still prevailed, 4-3. Olivarez threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The winning pitcher was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Bender. He tossed 124 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 11 hits. The 8th-place Texans now sit at 37-43.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Felix van Aken? The 30-year old center fielder van Aken stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Dallas up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
