Late Heroics Net Roadrunners 3-2 Win
|
The San Diego Roadrunners faced a tough opponent in Minnesota pitcher Kyle Fox, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Tony Gywnn Park by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Fox went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Ray Escamilla, who finished 4th in the WC in saves with 11 in 2025, was the winner in relief. His record is now 3-7. The losing pitcher was Dave Painter. San Diego now sits at 30-41, while Minnesota falls to 37-34.
The Roadrunners got a clutch hit from catcher Andres Rodriguez. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Roadrunners.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Rodriguez.
