San Francisco Peanuts pitcher John O'Connor was all business, helping his team muzzle the Vancouver Grizzlies, 4-1. O'Connor, now 5-9, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 11, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the win over Vancouver, the Peanuts improved to 33-36.
Juan Tercero had a big 2-run triple for the Peanuts in the bottom of the second inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a splitter from Bernie Loyola and swatted a triple to right. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Peanuts ahead, 3-0.
Tercero said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
