Texans Drop Cutthroats, 7-6
|
Despite a great performance by Denver first baseman Eric Linkletter, the Dallas Texans defeated the Cutthroats by the score of 7-6 at Everything's Bigger in Texas Ballpark. Linkletter was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Steve Bender, who is tied for 7th in the WC in innings pitched with 110.1, was the winner. He's now 5-7. The loser was Chris Woodford. Earning his 8th save of the year was Gavin West.
In the bottom of the fifth, Brian Pratt delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Dallas third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Texans in front, 7-6.
Said Texans manager Christopher Johnson: "We're relentless. Our guys will play a hard 27 outs."
Denver has now lost 5 consecutive games.
