Shamrocks Win 3-2 Nail-Biter Versus Union
The Boston Shamrocks had to overcome a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Leonardo Basora to win, 3-2, at Boston Commons. Basora went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Boston reliever Mario Llano picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Josh Kingsbury was saddled with the loss. Boston now sits at 21-41, while Chicago falls to 41-21.

The decisive blow was delivered by Eric Eriksen in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Kingsbury to win the game for Boston. The home crowd went nuts.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Eriksen told a Boston Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
