Blackwell Helps Chicago Cruise to 11-1 Win
|
The Chicago Union beat the Philadelphia Keystones at Trident Field. The final score was 11-1, in favor of Chicago. Jordan Blackwell led the way, going 3-for-4 for the home team. Jason Zierer earned the win for Chicago. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 6-2. The win elevated the Union to 28-13.
With Chicago leading 8-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Blackwell came up to bat against Philadelphia pitcher Jayden Brown. Blackwell hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Union on top, 11-1.
