Xiong drives in 5 runs, Leads Aces to Win
The Las Vegas Aces beat the San Diego Roadrunners by a score of 9-2. Las Vegas third baseman Gui-fan Xiong deserved the lion's share of the credit. Xiong went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Aces. Brian Fistler was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Ron Mackowski, who finished 4th in the EC in ERA with 2.51 in 2019, nailed down the save.

Early in the game, Xiong had a 3-run home run for Las Vegas. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Aces on top, 3-0.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Xiong told the Las Vegas Daily News.
