Lopez Goes on Rampage Against Empires
Roberto Lopez knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At PBC Rookie Development Complex, he made his case to be considered among that group.

The 27-year-old center fielder hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Vacaville (R) Steelheads fell, 8-7, to the Southern Cal (R) Empires.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Empires manager Andy Berman told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Lopez wasn't the difference."

Roberto Lopez doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jose Bastida in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
