Knights Hammered by Gan, Drop Game 6 to Diablos
|
The El Paso Diablos and the Los Angeles Knights will take the Cup Qualifier to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Diablos beat the Knights, 5-1, at Inferno Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. El Paso first baseman Zhi-huan Gan was 1-1 with a home run and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
With no one out in the bottom of the fifth, Robbie Bibriesca barreled up a cutter from Dan Williamson. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Diablos in front, 2-1.
El Paso manager Joe Peters commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Inferno Field in El Paso.
