Takemura, Knights Wallop Diablos in Game 1 of CQ

The Los Angeles Knights started the Cup Qualifier in style, winning on the road against the El Paso Diablos at Inferno Field by a score of 8-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Knights second baseman Hitomaro Takemura excelled. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3.
The Knights picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"Every team in baseball loses," Diablos manager Joe Peters said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Inferno Field in El Paso.
