Late Rally by Roadrunners Secures 8-7 Win
The San Diego Roadrunners weathered an outstanding game by Dallas right fielder Jesus Mendieta to topple the Texans, 8-7. Mendieta was 4 for 4 with 3 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Dallas is 3-6 after the defeat.

The Roadrunners were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 24-year old shortstop Carlos Mendoza landed a big blow. He turned a 0-1 fastball from Gavin West into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Tony Gywnn Park denizens into a frenzy and sent the Roadrunners home with a thrilling 8-7 win.

"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Mendoza said.
