Denver (R)-Vancouver (R) Fight Results in Suspensions Saturday, July 25th , 2026 Yesterday at PBC Rookie Development Complex Wesley Powell and Jonathan Chavez got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Denver (R) Cutthroats and Vancouver (R) Grizzlies. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Powell will have to sit out 4 while Chavez would be given a 9-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. This year, Powell is hitting .426 with 26 hits, 3 home runs, 14 RBIs and has scored 12 runs. Checking out his stats for the season, Chavez has racked up 3 wins and 2 losses in 10 starts, posted a 3.27 ERA, and struck out 61 batters in 55 innings. |
