5-Hit Game for Cruz Thursday, July 23rd , 2026 At PBC Rookie Development Complex, Carlos Cruz of the Chicago (R) Union put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and mauled the Philadelphia (R) Keystones pitching staff, but Chicago (R) still came up short on the scoreboard. The Union went home with the 12-1 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their center fielder. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Cruz said in the postgame interview. Carlos Cruz singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 10th. So far this season, Cruz has hit .366 with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and scored 19 times.
