Cervantez Rips San Francisco (R) for 5 Hits Thursday, May 28th , 2026 A jubilant Fernando Cervantez joined the postgame press conference at PBC Rookie Development Complex to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the San Francisco (R) Peanuts pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Denver (R) Cutthroats center fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led to the 9-5 Cutthroats win. "He made it look easy," said Rod Moreno, manager of the Peanuts. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Fernando Cervantez hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Ortega in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Fionnbár Cronin in the 9th.
