Top Player Named by Western Amateur Circuit Thursday, September 24th , 2026 The manager of the Yuma Gnomes said he thinks Chris Bowen is only going to get better as he gets older. He may only be 25, but it will be hard to top the first baseman's 2026 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Western Amateur Circuit Most Valuable Player Award. His winning campaign featured a .283 batting average and a .363 on-base percentage this year. In 101 games he piled up 105 hits, 18 doubles, 1 triple, 33 home runs, 93 RBIs and 74 runs scored. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 20. Joe Wood of the Houston Apollos finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Phil Gardner of the Yuma Gnomes finished third.
