Rodriguez Clips Stars for Cycle Wednesday, September 2nd , 2026 Jose Rodriguez did everything he could for the Albuquerque Coyotes -- literally. The 30-year-old left fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Coyotes, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Arlington Stars, 7-3, at Coyote Park. "Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Rodriguez reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat." In a game headed for the record books, Rodriguez banged out 4 hits in 5 at-bats and totaled 2 RBI and 1 run scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck." "A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle." Jose Rodriguez hit a solo-shot off Mario Ramon in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th.
