Leo Castro Out for 5-6 Months
Tuesday, August 11th , 2026
St. Petersburg fans held their breath as Leo Castro left yesterday's Liberty-Pelicans contest with an injury. After the game, the team's medical staff said that the 18-year-old reliever had suffered a fractured coracoid bone in his shoulder while throwing a pitch. It's estimated that he will be out 5-6 months.
For the year, Castro has collected no saves in 7 relief appearances. He has also rung up 32 strikeouts and 17 walks in 29.2 innings while registering a 4.25 ERA and a 0-2 won-lost mark.
