Great Stroke: del Valle Gets 5 Hits Friday, June 5th , 2026 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Providence's 8-4 win over Boston, left fielder Mike del Valle was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Providence Field. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," del Valle said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Mike del Valle singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Costanzo Onorati in the 6th and singled in the 8th. del Valle is hitting .429 so far this season with 5 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
