Chicago's Jon Naugle brought his best stuff to Trident Field, shutting down and shutting out the Washington Warriors, 2-0. He racked up 16 strikeouts, surrendered 3 hits, and issued 1 walk on his way to the victory.
"We barely made him work at all," Washington manager Mark Johnson said later. "Chicago could probably pitch him again tomorrow if they wanted."
To date this season, Naugle has registered 22 starts, 13-4 won-lost mark, 3.02 ERA, 155 IP, 160 strikeouts and 38 walks. Opposing teams have hit .228 against him.
