Chicago Topples Toronto, 5-2
|
Chicago got a strong outing from Jon Naugle as the Union defeated the Toronto Titans, 5-2, at Trident Field. Earning the save was Jason McNeal. He's now cashed in 17 of 20 save opportunities. The Union, now 54-29, have won 5 in a row.
Luke Partee had a big 2-run double for the Union in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Mark Black and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Union ahead, 3-0.
"It's Baseball 101," said Chicago manager Ron Chiu. "Fundamentals."
