Roadrunners Beat Loons in 10

Extra frames were needed to settle this game between the San Diego Roadrunners and Minnesota Loons.
The San Diego Roadrunners scooped up a win at The Asylum at Loons Ballpark, dumping the Minnesota Loons, 4-2. Josh Hunt, who finished 3rd in the EC in wins with 14 in 2021, was essential to his team's success. The winner in relief was Ray Escamilla. He is now 2-3. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. Jim Parker was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 5 save opportunities.
Achille Zanelli provided a timely hit. The San Diego designated hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Roadrunners on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"It was our day today," Hunt told the San Diego Citizen. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
The Roadrunners improved their record to 38-41 with the win over Minnesota.
