The San Diego Roadrunners managed to get by the Minnesota Loons, 5-4, at The Asylum at Loons Ballpark. San Diego pitcher Randy Olague set himself apart with his performance. The winning pitcher was Olague, now 6-7. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 10. The setback makes Minnesota 27-50.

San Diego won the game in part because of Kevin Mitchell. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Roadrunners ahead, 5-4. For the game, Mitchell had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Mitchell told the San Diego Citizen. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
