The San Francisco Peanuts claimed a close win over the San Diego Roadrunners, due in large part to John O'Connor. The San Francisco right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. In 7 innings, O'Connor surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 12 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Mike Tamblyn notched his 20th save in 23 chances.

Ruben Silva was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for San Francisco. The three-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Randy Olague. It was his 45th walk of the season.
