San Francisco Resolve Tested in 3-2 Win
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Garibaldi's Grounds, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2026 Professional Baseball Circuit season. On the mound was Ernesto Calderon for the visiting Minnesota Loons and John O'Connor for the hometown San Francisco Peanuts. In a spirited contest, the Peanuts pulled out the win, defeating the Loons by the score of 3-2. Especially impressive was John O'Connor. The winner was San Francisco reliever Evan Rich, now 1-0. The loser was Alex Ocampo.
The Peanuts got a clutch hit from right fielder Conor Kirk. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Peanuts.
"John is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said San Francisco manager Keven Berman.
