The New York City Gothams picked up a win at The Motor Yard, knocking off the Detroit Motors, 5-4. On the mound for New York City was right-hander Jian-gun Fou. He played a key role in the triumph. The Gothams improved their record to 23-24 by beating Detroit.

Dennis Hill hit a 2-run triple off Mike Loverde in the top of the seventh, which put the Gothams in front, 3-1. In addition to the triple, Hill had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Fou. "Successful pitchers do it."
